ALVILDA - C'est Déjà L'heure LP

As of Dec 4th: I just got this email about the delays on the Alvilda LP.

I just received an update on this order which is now in anomaly in our planning.
The pressing was completely rejected in yesterday's inspection.
We currently have a production issue due to a bad batch of raw PVC material (which impacts our entire 25 Ton stock)

1 out of 3 pressings goes into the dumpster each day (which is a huge quantity across 8 presses).  All of the bad PVC stock has been detected and returned to the supplier already.
The problem is undetectable to the eye but only by listening we hear a lot of cracking which is out of tolerances.
This order is no exception, everything was already urgently redone for all impacted productions.

New labels will be ready for the end of the week and the new stamper has already been redone.
We are doing our best to minimize any further delay on this, our apologies.

So your LP has not shipped yet but will as soon as the plant fixes this issue. Hopefully not too much longer. Sorry about that. -Jensen

It has been three and a half long years since Parisian four piece Alvilda released the Negatif 7” on Alien Snatch. They have been playing gigs but there has been no sign of recorded material. Now they finally return with their debut album for Static Shock Records and without doubt it’s a stonewall classic.

Every minute, every inch and every song is lean, locked in and upbeat with a tight and bright production. If you love 60’s girl pop but with a late 70’s power pop edge or Indie pop that has been raised on a diet of tuneful punk rock, then Alvilda will be your new favourite band, just like Dolly Mixture were, just like Chin Chin were and just like Les Calamités were.

The album is just under 30 minutes and it never lets up with quality and tunes that get stuck in your head. Not being able to speak a word of French is not a hindrance, as all the songs are instant and catchy. Alvilda is here to stay, and it's time already. (Sean Forbes)
