CONCRETE MOON / UPAHRAKA - Split CS
Andrew Quitter has long been one of my favorite noise/industrial artists because of his ability to touch on so many different types of sound and feelings. "Anxiety Electronics" is an apt description. Here however, AQ builds two tracks of eerie and wraithy synth-oriented compositions that throw warping oscillator waves and modestly effective percussion as well as some field recording.
Upaharaka is the new moniker of RB (of FRKSE)'s solo work - taking a a grimy yet milled lens to ambient/industrial. Here, South Asian ghostly themed are explored from broken down haunted mansions, crying ghosts, and the affliction of memory as ghost. Synths, field recordings, c-mic rasps and percussion are present.
Both sides compliment one another well.
51ish copies pro dubbed and stamped tapes that are ectoplasm green. Layout by AQ; mastering by AQ. Cassette contains two short additional interludes for the Upaharaka side. Just in time for 10/31.
**every once in a while the shipping amounts will seem insane (usually for multiple record int’l orders or US orders with shirts and records together) but rest assured we check each and every order and will refund any differences.
