RETIREMENT - The Will To Thrive CS

In 2023 Retirement were commissioned by Rajen Bhatt (FRKSE) to create an ambient release for his Divergent Series label.

Building off of their previous releases and noise elements, they sought to create 2 compositions that would capture the paranoia and discomfort reflected in their more conventional recordings. The result is “The Will to Thrive”, their latest offering.

20 minutes of anxious ambient and drone, with not a single beatdown breakdown to be found. Retirement invited their good friend J.R.C.G. into the fold on “Memory Care Center” and he did wonders to highlight the beauty that can be found in even the darkest of places.
The second track, "Attention Economy”, is a layered drone piece that shifts over the course of its playing time, hinting towards themes found in the next Retirement release on Iron Lung Records in the coming months.

Recommended for fans of Aphex Twin, Throbbing Gristle, and those weird soundscapes on G.I.S.M.’s M.A.N. album.
