"Tucked inside the bandshell bowl at Herbert Von King Park in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, I look up from my phone to find myself in a sea of black clothing, tattoos, and body odor. A smattering of families with toddlers hover just outside the pervasive clouds of smoke. It’s the early evening of September 11, 2025, and the band has just finished setting up. Signs declaring “FUCK ICE” and “FREEDOM PALESTINE” adorn the back wall of the stage. When Nader Habibi strolls onto the stage in a long black kilt, the guitars ring out and the mood shifts.
