ROLLTREPPE - Es Geht Bergab LP

Rolltreppe has been undulating their coldwave dance punk in the darkened smoky centers of Viennese culture for nearly 1500 sleepless nights. This release follows up on their 2020 debut tape and lurches them 10 steps forward. The sound of the five new tracks has evolved and become somewhat warmer, with more fx, yet still retains a distinct cold ‘post-punky’ vibe. Rolltreppe have succefully shed their awkward "developement" years, emerging as a mature musical quartet that clearly knows what they want from their creativeness. ‘Es Geht Bergab’ cleverly blends 80s sound aesthetics with clear and elegant references to current Austrian (post-)punk bands, some of whose members are or have been part of.
